The electronic navigator around the university
In September, 2011 the information and communications Control staff executed "Electronic Navigator at the University" project. In the hall of the main educational block No. 1 (the classroom hall) behind turnstile entrance a touch functional screen system is available during the whole university working day.

Energy efficient management system of hot water-supply (HWS) of the educational block uses solar collectors as part of interactive educational laboratories.
Based on the distributive demonstration zone, a regional interuniversity energy conservation of BSTU has been adapted for use in educational process, energy efficient management system of hot water-supply (HWS) of the educational blocks using solar collectors as part of interactive educational laboratories has been created.
The operation rules of the BSTU

Currently to access the BSTU electronic resources (electronic reading room, BSTU communicative environment Live@EDU, access to Wi-Fi network) requires authorization.
The main authorization point in the electronic systems of the university is the Personal cabinet.
Also through the "Personal cabinet" each student can obtain information on his own progress (the attestation information during the educational semester and during the examinations), up-to-date information on payment status for training at the university, placement of resume and portfolio in the Student's Databank "Scillbook", and the group prefects get access to dean's office system of the university.
Access to the Personal cabinet can be obtained through the following methods:
1 Method: using the login and password specified in the personal card of the student/employee. The student receives a personal card in dean's office; the employee gets from structural subdivision.
2 Method: independent registration for working in the Personal cabinet. For this purpose it is necessary to download the official site of BSTU www.bstu.ru, follow the link in the upper corner of the screen “Personal cabinet", "Registration". In case of registration, it is necessary to fill in personal data, such as name, middle name, surname of the student, passport number indicated at the admission time to the university.
3 Method: students on scholarships log into personal account using the login and password of access to wi-fi network resources received when signing the contracts.
