Fruit trees were planted at the flagship university of the region, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, tree planting was limited in terms of attracting participants. The event was attended by students, staff and administration of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, led by the rector of the university Sergey Glagolev.

"Good afternoon! I would like to congratulate you all on the 66th anniversary of the foundation of our university. On that day, April 29, 1954, the Belgorod Technological Institute of Building Materials was opened, which today is a unique educational institution! ” - with these words, the rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Sergey Glagolev began the traditional meeting of the Academic Council.

At the end of March, before switching to the distance learning mode, senior students of the Department of Media and Culture took part in business games, which, according to a good long-standing tradition, were held at JSC ZHBK-1.

April 29, 1954 - the Technological Institute of Building Materials was opened, which became the basis for the emergence of a completely new status of the educational institution - the university. BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov has a long history of engineering and is the largest specialized university in the field of building materials and construction industry. Therefore, it is rightly called the forge of builders and engineers of the Belgorod region.

In 2020, the Russian Handball Championship among the teams of the Higher League was held in a fairly short time: the season began in September 2019, and was completed in March 2020. The games were suspended by the decision of the Russian Handball Federation due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the country - the emergence and spread of a new infection COVID-19. The Belgorod State Technological University named after Vladimir Shukhov at the championship was represented by the Technolog-Spartak team, prepared by two honored trainers of Russia: Sergey Ivanovich Kramsky and Sergey Ivanovich Yarkov.

The path to success is complex and thorny: it is always full of obstacles that need to be overcome, and trials that temper character. This can be confirmed by absolutely anyone living with their idea and striving to bring it to life. Including our student Zhennifer Letkemann, who has devoted not one year to the development of her social project “Crossroads of Remembrance”.

During the spreading of COVID-19, everyone needs to take care not only of themselves, but also of those around them. Now there is an urgent need for maintaining distance in public places, wearing masks and constant hand disinfection

The Belgorod State Technological University named after Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov is actively working on the creation and distribution of personal protective equipment, which is especially necessary in the current epidemiological situation. It is with the help of high technology that student volunteers produce antiviral protective masks.

Pleasant and very significant news for all Shukhov team. By the decision of the international jury of the "Archimedes 2020" competition, the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was awarded by gold and silver medals for the projects: “Machine vision system for detecting defects in sanded paper”, the authors of which are: Rubanov VG, Stepovoi AA, Vashchenko RA, as well as “Software component of the property classifier of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation”, authors : Bukhanov D.G., Belousov A.V., Grebenik A.G., Koslich Yu.A., Kravchenko A.S.
