On the April 29, 1954 - the Technological Institute of Building Materials was opened, which became the basis for the emergence of a completely new status of the educational institution - the university.
BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov has a long history of engineering and is the largest specialized university in the field of building materials and construction industry. Therefore, it is rightly called the forge of builders and engineers of the Belgorod region.
