In July a group of foreign students studying at preparatory faculty for foreign students attended a memorial complex. The students were excited by what they have seen as they realized the scale and significance of the Kursk Battle during World War II, which took place near the village of Prokhorovka. The group also visited in a regional ethnographic park in a picturesque location of Prokhorovka district. The tour guide told about the life, customs and traditions of local peasants.

Students learning Russian at Preparatory Faculty for foreign students at BSTU get acquainted with history and culture of Belgorod region. The purpose of this diversified and rich program of their stay is to get complete understanding concerning the past and the present of our land. This week the students have visited Falk Culture Museum. For them acquaintance with the exposition became a real discovery of Belgorodia.

On July 23, Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was visited by the delegation representing one of the leading higher education institutions in China - Shandong University.

International students construction team "Belogorie" started work , uniting the envoys of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

A group of students from France, the Middle East, Serbia, taking a one- month course in Russian at the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens at BSTU visited Belgorod State History and Art Museum-Diorama "Battle of Kursk "The guests got acquainted with a permanent exposition, inspected objects, photographs, documents about the events of the Battle of Kursk and its participants.

BSTU is being visited by a group of students from France, Serbia and Sri Lanka. Within a month, they will be studying Russian language at the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens. In addition to studying foreigners a varied cultural program. July 13 sightseeing and Belgorod region began with a visit to Belgorod State History Museum.

On June 18 the section of nanotechnology in construction materials science held a webinar with the participation of Dr. Eng. Mohammed Alhaj Hussein, a scientist from Saudi Arabia. The honoured scientist represents Saudi Green Building Council, engaged in environmentally friendly «green» building projects.

On June 17 the Students Art Centre at Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov hosted an International contest to determine the best solutions for urban renovation of the historic area in the centre of Belgorod. 126 works of architects and urban planners from around the world took part in the competition, among them - 43 projects from Russia.

A traditional workshop was held at the Department of the Russian Language and natural sciences. Lecturers of the department generously share their teaching ideas , demonstrate efficient use of information technology and Internet resources in teaching Russian as a foreign language
