Technological University is happy to receive new friends
On July 23, Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was visited by the delegation representing one of the leading higher education institutions in China - Shandong University. The program of the visit started with a flower laying ceremony to the monument to Vladimir Grigoryevich Shukhov. BSTU Chancellor, Professor Sergey Glagolev told the guests about diversified activities of this renowned engineer who gained worldwide fame through his outstanding works.
Then the Chinese delegation proceeded to the hall of the Academic Council. A video about our university covering history and benchmarks of its development, achievements and future prospects was shown to the visitors. S. Glagolev stressed that BSTU is happy to acquire new friends and is prepared to for active, fruitful cooperation with them.
President of Shandong University, Mr. Zhang Xinyi extended his gratitude to BSTU for warm welcome. He assured that this is a great honor to be so effective in developing the university, which takes a leading position in the ranking of popularity among young people around the world. There are many ways of connecting the Chinese and Russian universities because both universities train professionals for a similar range of areas, among them - construction, environmental protection, economics, computer technology. Therefore, cooperation offers wonderful opportunities for joint research, exchange of experiences.
The visitors gave a slide show presentation of Shandong University, the largest university in the country, which is currently training more than 35,000 students. Due to BSTU leadership has gained a more comprehensive and objective understanding of this institution, Mr. Zhang Xinyi invited Russian colleagues to visit China.
The agreement reached as a result of negotiations was consolidated by signing a cooperation agreement.
After that, the guests went on a tour of the University.
The representatives of the Chinese delegation got acquainted with sports infrastructure, security system , museum and exhibition, youth center for developing creativity and technological innovation "Metamorphosis". They visited a webinar involving scientists from a number of foreign universities.
