Rector of Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov Professor Sergey Glagolev as a member of the Russian delegation took part in the first forum of the Federation of Rectors of Russian and Arab universities in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

A creative contest among students of preparatory faculties for foreign citizens «Brave heroes, fair maidens» was held at the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov.

From February 22 to 25, 2018, the 12th International festival of music, art and folk art «Russian Fairy Tale-2018» was held in St. Petersburg.

From February 21 to 24, the Central Federal Region kickboxing Championship (full contact) was held in Kursk. The tournament brought together more than 300 athletes from 14 regions of the country. BSTU students, pupils of the wrestling club «Belogor» Daniil Timofeev and Artem Romenko participated at this event.

On February 25, an open winter competition on motor sport «Autocross Belgorod» was held at the go – cart track of ACK «Virazh». The event is organized by the TEAM 31 auto club with the support of ACK «Virazh», BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Belrace Automobile Club (Belgorod), AISR Belgorod auto club and Kursk Central Automotive Club.

A festive event dedicated to the Fatherland Defender’s Day and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Border Guard Service of the Russian Federal Security Services was held at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. A traditional demonstration of military equipment was organized by the representatives of military units on the main square of the university for all guests of the event. Visitors attended the exhibitions of weapons and ammunition, the military field kitchen was opened throughout the day at the Student Palace of Culture of the flagship university, and on the square.

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow hosted a solemn event dedicated to the celebration of Serbia's Independence Day, the Meeting of the Lord, as well as the 180th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Serbia. The event was attended by the vice-rector for international affairs of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Ruslan Lesovik and university students Snezhana Laketic, Alexander Laketic and Nemanja Laketic.

BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov hosted the 44th Spartakiad of the University for skiing, organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the University. Seven teams representing our university of met in the traditional winter competitions.

According to the results of the qualifying stage of the student's Olympiad «I am a professional», student of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Anastasia Sviridenko and Viktoria Polyakova visited Sochi and took part in the winter school of the Ural Federal University «Engineering Olympiad: New Professionals of Russia» in their specialization «Construction».

A sports festival dedicated to the Fatherland Defender’s Day took place at the BSTU. Seven teams representing university institutions participated in a kind of merry relay races.
