The laboratory carries out the research of mineralogical composition of the crystalline natural and technogenic materials and identifies the phase formation sequence in the process of materials synthesis and the finished products composition in the sphere of manufacture and usage:
- portland cement
- gypsum and binders on its base
- lime
- concretes
- ceramics
- glass
- refractories
- heat- and sound-insulating materials
- constructional materials and products
The laboratory is fitted with X-ray diffractometers of various modifications: DRON-3, DRON-4-07, and a high-temperature X-ray phase analysis device with horizontal configuration and a high-temperature furnace ARL X'TRA. The results are processed and the minerals concentration is determined by means of software packages Difwin and PDWin, Crystallographica-Search Match.
The instruments are universal automated complexes for X-ray phase analysis and X-ray structural analysis. The full automation of the instrument and the high X-ray protection of the personnel allow using it both in research and learning activities. The instrument is characterized with high reliability and measurement accuracy.
The analysis is carried out according to GOST 16865–79, GOST 25473–82, GOST 4.198–85, GOST Р 51795-2001 and RD 34.09.603-88.
