The department was founded on 25th of October, 1999. The first graduation in Marketing specialty took place in 2005.

On the island of Sicily, the European Beach Handball Champions Cup has ended. The Russian team performed under the flag of the Ekaterinodar teams, the team included athletes from Stavropol and players from the Belgorod team Technolog-Spartak: international master of sports Igor Neklyudov and sports master Konstantin Vinokur.

On the 30th of October representatives of the UAE visit BSTU named after V.G Shukhov. Ali Habib - rector of 2 branches of Almansur and Ainshayf state university in Sharm el-Sheikh, an educational investor and H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Nasser Ahmed Alraisi - Assistant Under Secretary National Archives of the Ministry Presidential Affairs of the UAE met with the rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov S. N. Glagolev. The purpose of the visit was to negotiate the recognition of our university in the United Arab Emirates.
Open Doors Day at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov
On 27 of October Day of Open Doors was held at the flagship University of the Region. Applicants and their parents got acquainted with the history, structure and achievements of the university, talked with employees and teachers of the university, asked their questions and took part in a sightseeing tour.
