On the 25th of June, the meeting of the academic council of the university took place. At the beginning of the meeting, Vice-Rector for Security Vladimir Borisovsky celebrated the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, provided statistical data and reviewed the work of students participating in the regional poster contest “I am against drugs”. After, the rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Sergey Glagolev called on everyone to fulfill their civic duty and vote for amendments to the constitution of the Russian Federation.

Scientific and technical consortium develops technologies to reduce atmospheric pollutants
For nearly a year, the flagship university has been working on the development and implementation of a technology for reducing emissions at pig farms in the Belgorod Region agro-industrial complex, pollutants into the atmosphere with the treatment and disposal of manure and technological effluents using bioremediation methods.

Gypsum-containing (GCW) wastes are widespread in the territory of the Russian Federation and a number of other states. The accumulated reserves of this technogenic raw materials, according to various estimates, amount to 5-7 billion tons. Currently, there are more than 50 types of GCW that have been studied by various scientific groups.
Regional makers against COVID-19
Another month of the social project “Makers versus COVID-19 / Belgorod” ended, bringing together many people who are ready to help physicians with the help of high technology in the current epidemiological situation. In the Belgorod region, thirteen makers are already active in the production of antiviral protective agents, who have already been able to help more than two thousand doctors.
