Issues of development and fostering of patriotism among BSTU students were discussed on the agenda. Natalya Mityakina, Director of Cultural and Educational Work, made a report on the establishment of the Center for Patriotic Education in BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov within the framework of the State Program "Patriotic Education of Citizens of the Russian Federation for 2016-2020".

It should be recalled that in the framework of the implementation of the fundamental provisions of geonics, the law of similarity was formulated - the strength and durability of composites is determined by the proximity of the properties of all components of the sample and their high adhesion.

Students with specialization "Human Resource Management" visited LLC "Belenergomash - BZEM". The event was organized by the Center for Employment of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

Director of the Center for Cultural and Educational Work of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Natalya Mityakina opened the event and spoke about the importance of the Rosmolodezh project for students and graduates-potential entrepreneurs.

The results of the university’s work in 2017/2018 academic year and the tasks for the new period were determined. The issue of the readiness of educational programs for the university state accreditation also was on the agenda.

Traditional kickboxing tournament in memory of the champion of Europe, master of sports of Russia of international class, a former university student Sergey Polivody was held at the sports complex of the flagship university of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

A delegation from the twin city of Belgorod - Niš (Republic of Serbia) made an official visit to the flagship university on October 5.

This year, more than 70 students of 3rd and 4th years of education from the department "Mechanical Equipment" of Institute of Technological Equipment and Machine Manufacturing had an on-site internship at a number of leading enterprises.

The 2nd International Congress of Lecturers and Heads of the Preparatory Faculties (Departments) of Russian Universities was held at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN). Dean of the Preparatory Faculty for foreign citizens, Ph.D. in Pedagogy Elena Legochkina presented the flagship university of the Belgorod Region.

The 2nd International Student Festival "Thank God that we are Cossacks!" was held in Lipetsk. Youth ensemble of the Cossack song of the flagship university of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov represents the university at the festival for the second year.
