On June 29, in the sports complex of the basic university of the region, solemn opening of sports competitions in volleyball among women's teams was held in the framework of the VI All-Russian Summer Universiade. 16 teams from different parts of Russia: from Bashkortostan and to the Primorsky Territory will take part in them.

June 28, a solemn ceremony of awarding state and regional awards was held in the administration of the Belgorod region. The head of the student construction brigade of the flagship university of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Oleg Gorshkov was among the awardees. Governor of the region Evgeny Savchenko presented a Letter of Gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin for his active participation in the work on the preparation and conduct of presidential elections in the country. It should be noted that in December 2017, Oleg Gorshkov became a member of the initiative group for the nomination of President Vladimir Putin, where he continued to work during the election campaign.

From July 1, 2018, the All-Russian student construction project "Peaceful Atom-2018" begins its work. More than 600 students from all over the country will start their work in the village of Ozersk, Chelyabinsk region.

On June 28, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of the regional flagship university of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov was held. Awarding of prizes to students, lecturers and university staff, who achieved high results in academic, scientific, inventive and other professional activities, became a good tradition during the council.

Students of the Civil Engineering Institute of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov completed the first year and undergo internship at the regional construction sites. Young interns were invited to an apartment building on the street B. Khmelnitsky Avenue, 126, where major repair works are being carried out.

In June, the lecturer of the Department of Real estate assessment and management Viktoria Unezheva won the competition for short-term practical internship in Germany, conducted by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD, in conjunction with the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE).

On the agenda were two important and topical issues: the implementation of the plan for cultural events for January-June 2018 and the effectiveness of the curators of academic groups, the preparation of work plans for student councils, student associations and a joint council of students BSTU. The final handball competitions in the framework of the VI All-Russian Summer Universiade-2018 took place in the sports complex of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov on June 25th.

The final competitions of the VI All-Russian Summer Universiade-2018 started at the flagship university. The solemn and colorful opening ceremony took place at the stadium of BSTU on June 23.

The flagship university took part in the patriotic action «The Wave of Memory». BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov joined the numerous delegations of the leadership of the region and the regional center, enterprises representatives, organizations, educational institutions.
