The festival «Big pancake week» with the participation of students and teachers of the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was hosted in the Student’s Palace of Culture. An intense program with artistic performances, cheerful competitions, master classes and tasty treats was organized by the staff of the Student’s Palace of Culture for all guests.

From 7 to 9 February, three engineering-racing teams of the flagship university - SHUKHOV RACING TEAM, SRT Baja and SRT Electric, took part in the 6th All-Russian Forum «Student engineering projects» at Moscow automobile and road construction state technical university, where they became the winners in the nomination «Best photo». Also they took second place in the engineering competition «AutoCorning» and 3-rd place in the business plan presentations.

Two graduates of BSTU successfully completed the first semester at the Harbin Polytechnic University on an exchange program.

On February 8, the open lectures, interactive sessions, and a demonstration of a science film were held at the flagship university. Especially for the event, exhibitions of modern technologies and scientific developments were arranged, and a unique soft-lecture hall for the Belgorod youth was held.

6 students of BSTU received grants for further scientific research at the program final «GENIUS-2017», organized by the Innovation Support Fund with the support of the flagship university.

The Governor of the Belgorod Region Evgeny Savchenko and the Chairman of the Council of Rectors of the Belgorod Region, the President of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Professor Anatoly Gridchin presented the Vladimir Shukhov Award.

From January 29 to February 3, the 76th International Scientific and Methodological and Research Conference was held at Moscow automobile and road construction state technical university. The leading scientists from all regions of the country attended this conference. Professor of the flagship university Valery Lesovik made a presentation at the section «Prospects and problems solving in the field of transport construction in the Arctic».

24 students from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey, of the second year of education at the mechanical equipment department (English program, bachelor degree) visited the Belgorod Holding company "EUROCEMENT group". The head of the roasting shop of the plant Sergey Lezhansky and the chief technologist Anton Gunko acquainted the guests with the technological equipment and cement production at the plant. The students inspected the clinker firing, cement grinding and raw materials shop.

BSTU became a partner institution of «Technology LLC» at a specific conference «nanoCAD SHOW», the largest Russian producer of industry software company «Nanosoft». Currently, construction design, research and technological support of the industry are carried out in the university with the use of 7 units of specialized software "Nanosoft". «NanoCAD SHOW-2018» - a fundamentally new format for CAD-events.

The project of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov sports and patriotic organization «Belogor» - «Path of Power» which is implemented within the framework of the annual interuniversity youth festival «Rus’ Zapovednaya» got the presidential funding and this project will be carried out throughout the year on a regional scale with the support of the youth policy department of the Department for Internal and Personnel Policy of the Belgorod Region.
