On January 30, the participants awarding of the III Regional competition for the best social group work of student self-administration following the results of the last academic year took place at the Center of Youth Initiatives in Belgorod.

A group of teachers of the Russian language from the department of the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov teach Russian in the Kingdom of Morocco under the academic mobility program as part of the implementation of the federal target program "Russian Language" (for 2016-2020)
Christmas Cup for foreign students
On the January 6, 2018, sports complex of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov hosted the fourth annual football tournament among international students "Christmas Cup", in which teams from Ghana, Angola, Benin and the African team took part. The event was prepared and checked by the employees of the department for work with foreign students.
