In December our foreign students visited the exhibition “Christmas Dreaming” at the University Museum. The exhibition presented creative works made by 8-14 year old children, members of IMP-ART studio of architectural and artistic creativity. This studio started at our university this year and is supervised by experienced faculty members E.Tsibulnik and E.Korotun.

On December 20, the last session of the Council of Foreign National Affinity Groups took place . The organizers of the event put forward the agenda discussing the issue of the results of Council’s activity during the first semester 2012-2013 academic year.

On 15 - 16 December at Belgorod regional championship in table tennis Belgorod Shulhov State Technological University was represented by the best eight athletes. In the women's tournament a Peruvian student Leon Davila Silvia Viviana became a champion.

Duet of an English language instructor, faculty member Irina Mikulik and a Nigerian student Emmanuel Maina has already gained its fans. Once again, the young people pleased the audience with lyrical and bright performance at the university contest "Talents and admirers." The jury appreciated the inspired performance of the song "The whole new world", familiar to the viewers by Walt Disney's "Aladdin," and the duo was awarded second prize. Preparing to all performances of Irina and Emmanuel is under the guidance of Uruzmag Tandelov.

A fifth-year student of the Institute of Polytechnic Sciences Alize Butare from the French city of Laval is being trained in BSTU named after V.G .Shukhov. Alize is not studying Russian only, but also participates in the organization of the activities of the French club at French and German

Turkish students Tugche Ylmazer and Çağlar Danadzhi are being trained at the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. Both of them are graduates of Ankara State University, specializing in philology. In the future Tugche Ylmazer and Çağlar Danadzhi who also speaks English, would like to make the Russian language a profession.

Momcilo Savic came from Serbia for internship and is currently being trained at the Russian Language Department. Next year, he will graduate from the Philosophy Faculty of the University of Nis in the specialty "Russian language and literature." In the future, the young man is planning to devote his life to the Russian language.

Students Art Centre hosts annual events arranged by Preparatory faculty for Foreign Students. Representatives of over 30 countries came to our university to study the foundation course and tried to shoe their culture and traditions at the exhibition and concert.

Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov holds exams in the Russian language for foreigners and stateless persons who intend to obtain citizenship of the Russian Federation.

In late November, BSTU held a traditional annual meeting of foreign students with representatives of police and migration authorities in Belgorod. Foreign students come to study in Russia and are often not familiar with the laws of the new country, they would like to know more about their rights and responsibilities in the Russian Federation. The university holds regular theme events to explain the foreign citizens the norms of the Russian law and ensure crime prevention.
