BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov pays much attention to a healthy lifestyle of students. An important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle is paid to students’ meeting with health professionals. Recently the foreign students attended a lecture delivered by D.A. Radchenko, a medical specialist working for a Regional Drug Dependency Clinic,.

Dr. Yaser Allaham Seifiddin, the Chancellor’s advisor on international affairs, Belgorod branch of the Association of Foreign Students in Russia, whose president is Mohammed Waleed Abdulvahhab and Uruzmag Tandelov, head of foreign students folk club initiated a new creative team at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The BSTU students and the students from Belgorod State University, who came to study in Russia from Iraq, Palestine, Oman, Syria, etc. can play musical instruments, dance and sing.

175 singers from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Georgia, and 25 regions of Russia took part in this year's competition. The best performers were in the final gala concert. BSTU represented by foreign students of our university. All participants received first degree winners certificates.

Students from our friendly country – Serbia have arrived to Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov again within the exchange program. The tour of the University started with BSTU Museum and the exhibition complex, where Tamara Konoreva, director, spoke in detail about the history of Belgorodia and the university.

On February 3, the first in this year meeting of chairmen friendly association of foreign students took place. The organizers of the event the director of the Center for International Education and Cooperation E.V. Kapustin and Head of Department for Foreign Students Nosachev D.S. put forward the agenda of the Council plans for the spring semester of 2012, which was adopted and approved unanimously.

The final stage of the annual interinstitutional tournament on mini-soccer "Friendship Cup" ended on January 27 in BSTU Sports Complex. During the first 8 teams competed for the first position, four of them were left in the semi-finals - Belgorod State Technological University and Belgorod State Agricultural Academy, Belgorod Institute of Engineering and economics Belgorod Consumer Cooperation and Law University. In 1 / 2 finals Belgorod Institute of Engineering and economics beat the Cooperation and Law University 6-2, and BSTU won the Academy of Agriculture at 3-2. As a result, BSTU and BEE teams met in the finals, the match ended in the victory of Technological University 5-4. The respectable second place was given to the team of Belgorod Institute of Engineering and economics . Cooperation University team took the third place in the hard struggle.

On January 26, Sports Complex of Belgorod State Tecnological University named after V.G. Shukhov hosted an opening ceremony of the annual mini-soccer tournament for a "Friendship Cup", which was attended by about a hundred people. Not only the fans from other universities came to support their team, but those who are extremely interested in this sport. 8 teams took part in the competition. Apart from BSTU teams Belgorod Institute of Engineering and economics, Belgorod Consumer Cooperation and Law University, Belgorod State Agricultural Academy, junior sports school № 6 , Belgorod State Institute of Culture and Art participated in the competition . Our university, as an organizer and a host of events, was represented by 3 teams composed of graduate and post-graduate students, as well as foreign nationals who came to study in BSTU.
