On December 23, our university held a ceremony with the participation of the Board of affinity groups of international students, studying at BSTU. To preserve cultural diversity, improving education level, developing patriotism and tolerance, as well as to attract foreign students to the social life of the University, the university established affinity groups (national students unions). It brought together 25 chairmen of affinity groups

Annual «Students Initiation», arranged by preparatory Faculty for Foreign Students became a good tradition at BSTU. This year young people coming from 34 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America do not only present their national culture but establish themselves as outstanding and creative personalities.

Victor Babaev, an engineer at BSTU Research Department has recently came back from Spain. From December 5 - 10 he was visiting Innovation Prototype Centre Fab Lab Barselona.

On December 19, 2011 Alexis Bado geve a presentation on internship opportunities at the Graduate School of Engineers (Ales, France). The presentation took place at the Frengh and German resourse centre

On November 2011 the Russian Ministry of Education and Science held an annual award ceremony for participants of all-Russian and international contests. Students, post-graduates, young scientists, inventors form Russia, Byelorussia and Kazakhstan took part at the ceremony. BSTU student (Institute of economics and management) Vladislav Chistyukhin was given the highest awards for three reasearch works presented.

On December 16 the students of the preparatory faculty for foreign students representing over 30 countries of the world gave a sparkling performance for the students’ initiation ceremony. Bright dances and wonderful songs couldn’t leave the spectators indifferent. The new students gave a swear to study well and obey the university rules. All of them were encouraged by the senior students who, speaking wonderful Russian, supported them in learning the Russian language and culture.

On December 23 at 3 p.m. the rector of the University S.N. Glagolev wil pass special pins and documents to international students justifying their membership in the International Students Council.

Foreign students were the most active this year taking part in a gala performance within the contest "Hello! We are looking for talents!" The participants were given awards and pleased the audience with their artistic skill.
