August, 5 is a special date for our region and for the entire country, it was on this day 77 years ago, during fierce battles, Belgorod was liberated from the German fascist invaders. By order of Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin dated August 5, 1943, on this day in Moscow, an artillery salute was given to the troops that liberated Oryol and Belgorod. This fireworks was the first during the Great Patriotic War, so the name "City of the first fireworks" was assigned to Orel and Belgorod, and on April 27, 2007 Belgorod was the first in Russia to receive the honorary title "City of Military Glory"
