Rector of the University at the International Conference Industrial Heritage
Rector of BSTU Shukhov Sergei Glagolev took part in the International Conference "Industrial Heritage", one of the topics of which was the heritage of the brilliant Russian engineer and architect Vladimir Shukhov. Within the framework of the forum, Sergey Nikolayevich also met with the rector of Damascus University Mohamed Osama Alzhabban, Vice-Rector for Science, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Head of the Center for Exposing Destroyed Buildings.
The rector of BSTU spoke about the training of personnel at the university. The leaders of the universities agreed to start joint work in the areas of construction and architecture, and discussed the possibility of training for Syrian students. The Syrian side is ready to send state employees to the master's program at BSTU. Director of the Architectural Institute Vitaly Pertsev discussed with the dean of the Faculty of Architecture projects to create new districts in the destroyed Damascus.
The rector of Damascus University invited the delegation of BSTU named after Shukhov to Damascus. The parties agreed to sign an agreement in February 2023 in Damascus with the Minister of Culture of the Syrian Arab Republic.
