Topical issues of the well-being of modern society
In the meeting room of the Center for High Technologies of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov on December 8, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Topical Issues of Combating Corruption" was held. More than 200 students from more than 50 universities, including Donetsk and Luhansk, took part in the hybrid format. The conference participants include representatives of state authorities, deputies, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies and the judiciary. Colleagues from Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Djibouti, Bulgaria, and Poland joined the discussion online.
As noted by the vice-rector for security of BSTU. V.G. Shukhov Vladimir Borisovsky, corruption is currently one of the main threats to the security and well-being of the world community. This year, in addition to the traditional competition of research papers and posters, for the first time a competition of social videos "I am against corruption" was held. The awards were presented to the winners by Oksana Vladimirova, Chairman of the Council of the Belgorod Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization "Association of Lawyers of Russia" and Vladimir Troyan, Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission of the Belgorod Region. The international scientific and practical conference is traditionally held at the university on the eve of the International Anti-Corruption Day, which is celebrated on December 9th.
This is not only an exchange of experience in the scientific and professional communities on anti-corruption issues for the development and practical application of a number of recommendations. It is also a platform for developing the talents of young people, realizing their civic, social, cultural potential, as well as enhancing the civic and political position, forming the legal and political culture of young people. The participants of the conference expressed their gratitude to the leadership of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov for fruitful work and cooperation in organizing educational events.
