Literary Plein Air in Serbia
From 17 to 22 September an International literary plein air took place in the picturesque suburb Sichevo near the town of Nis (Serbia). It was attended by T.L. Konoreva, director of museum and exhibition center of Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov. Tamara Konoreva gave a presentation of our university and the museum and exhibition center, commented on the book "Victory and memorable days of Russia," authored by the professors and lecturers of our university.
According to the director of Cultural Centre in Nis Serdzhan Savic, the presentation of the book "Victory and memorable days of Russia," aroused great interest of visitors and participants of the plain-air event, for which Tamara Konoreva was awarded a letter of gratitude from the organizers of the plein air.
During the visit, T.L. Konoreva was invited to the meeting with the vice chancellor for International Relations at the University of Nis, Prof. Slobodan Antikh, during which she described the history of our university, its scientific schools, traditions, noting the long-term friendly relations between BSTU and the University of Nis.
Professor Slobodan Antih supported the idea of the need for further cooperation between the Serbian and Russian scientists, artists and writers. According to him, it will contribute to further strengthening and expansion of friendly relations.
Last summer internship training for the students from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Nis in the Department of the Russian Language at BSTU V.G. Shukhov was another evidence of the friendship, which largely contributed to better understanding of the cultural identity of the two peoples. The meeting also included discussion of the problems of multicultural issues and tolerance.
Vice-Rector of the University of Nis, told T.L. Konoreva about the plans to open a Gallery at the University of Nis, which in the future could become a place where you can develop creative boundaries with BSTU.
Mr. Slobodan Antikh praised the proposal by T.L. Konoreva about the possibility of holding an international conference on the basis of Serbian university, as well as invited the guest to attend an International Symposium to be held in the city of Nis in 2013.
The meeting was also attended by Director of the Cultural Center in Nis Serdzhan Savic and famous Serbian artist Anica Savic, who visited our university in autumn 2009.
