Internship training in Germany

Last summer turned out to be really hot for the students of Transportation Technology Institute, who worked pretty hard not only on the sites in Belgorod oblast, but also far beyond their home region. The young people who had received a certain baggage of knowledge over the years, were given an opportunity to put it into practice.
During the summer labor practice the students of the department of automobile roads and railways participated in the construction and reconstruction of transport communications, tidying and adjusting of the roadside area. Among the road organizations, where students worked are "Beldorstroy", "Belgorodoblproekt", "Transyuzhstroy."
Everyone knows that Germany is famous for its roads throughout Europe. Highways become a real arena for extreme driving fans. The students of Transportation Technology Institute Anastasia Korotkova and Julia Morozova told about the current rersearch of roads in Germany. This summer, Anastasia and Julia, were on internship practice in «Heller Engineering Ltd» and "TUV Rheinland Schniering" , German road companies involved in monitoring and research of roads. A specialized vehicle "Argus" was used during the research, which allows to make a complete functional diagnosis of the pavement. Multi-purpose measurement system, "Argus," not only allows to assess various categories of roads, but also take necessary measures to keep their condition. It is worth to mention that last autumn, a Managing Director of «Heller Engineering Ltd» Slawomir Heller visited our university and signed an agreement on further cooperation. According to Director Transportation Technology Institute, Professor N.G. Gorshkova, negotiations were conducted only in English. As a result BSTU representatives perfectly mastered the English language terminology related to roads.

We remind that "Heller"company has worked for 10 years collecting and analyzing data on the road pavement condition in Germany, is developing standards for road construction. "TUV Rheinland Schniering" provides road monitoring and operation and currently working out the most effective methods to investigate the pavement with the purpose to make best decisions to improve it. The company also controls vehicles condition. The recommendations of the company become the basis for decision in legislation concerning road construction in many European countries.
As for BSTU students, who arrived for an internship in Germany, they have mastered the advanced experience of German colleagues, which can be used in Russia.

For now Julia Morozova is a 4th year student at TTI, and Anastasia Korotkova has received her bachelor's degree this year and is proceeding with the master's program, being actively engaged in research activity:
- We express our special gratitude to the Chancellor of our University, Professor S.N. Glagolev, - said the students - for the perfect opportunity to arrange an internship in one of the best road companies in Germany and we hope that further cooperation between the two parties will bring a lot of fruitful ideas and positive results.
