Familiarization with Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University
During the three day visit of the delegation of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to BSTU His Excellency Mohammed Awad Abdoul Rahman Al-Hassan, the Ambassador of Oman to Russia amd Jamel Fadel, head of Education Section visited mechanical equipment department, where they met a warm reception on behalf of the staff by the department head, doctor of technology, professor V.S. Bogdanov. Vasily Stepanovich told the guests about the history of his department, state of-art teaching aids, presenting the visitors with a textbook on mechanical equipment.
Later the delegation from Oman learned about the activities of the section of nanotechnologies in building materials science and the department of construction materials, products and structures.
The honoured visitors were greatly impressed by the visit to the university museum, where they learned much about Vladimir Shukhov, an outstanding genius of engineering thought, whose name was given to our university. In token of gratitude and sincere respect to BSTU His Excellency Mohammed Awad Abdoul Rahman Al-Hassan left his signature in the Museum Book.
The guests were able to know about our students’ sport achievements during their visit to the Department of physical education and sports. Professor S.I. Kramskoy, the department head, arranged an exciting excursion covering BSTU sport facilities. The Embassy representatives stated high level of training and staff activities, which has achieved much success in various kinds of sport.
Going into a classroom, where the future economists were defending their graduation theses was of no less significance to His Excellency Mohammed Awad Abdoul Rahman Al-Hassan. The guest supported high demand for the managerial staff in his home country, telling about his own study period in the USA when he was taking the macroeconomics course as his major.
Planting young trees in the Alley of Friendship became one of the core events during the stay of the delegation from the Embassy of Oman. The diplomats, willingly supported by the students from their home country, fulfilled this honorary mission. As soon the young trees become stronger, they will remind students and teachers about the stay of the delegation in Belgorod and the firming friendship between our nations.
