Regional makers against COVID-19
Another month of the social project “Makers versus COVID-19 / Belgorod” ended, bringing together many people who are ready to help physicians with the help of high technology in the current epidemiological situation. In the Belgorod region, thirteen makers are already active in the production of antiviral protective agents, who have already been able to help more than two thousand doctors.
The main products of the production of makers of the Belgorod region are protective screens and adapters for snorkel masks (for resuscitation doctors), which are manufactured in many areas of the region: Belgorod, Stary Oskol, Grayvoronsky district, Maysky village and many others. Help comes from all concerned Belgorod residents: from schools to universities, from private machine owners to industrial plants, from everyone who wants to help medical workers:

Headquarters: Center of Metamorphosis BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov (vk.com/metacmit).
The regional headquarters “Makers versus COVID-19 / Belgorod” is located on the basis of the CMT “Metamorphosis” BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov - the coordinator of the movement in the Belgorod region. Here, both the production of protective equipment and the receipt of applications, coordination of the nearest makers, clarification of the readiness of parts and the transfer of materials between performers are carried out. Also it is in the walls of the BSTU. V.G. Shukhov and MISiS (Stary Oskol), the final assembly of protective screens takes place and their subsequent distribution to hospitals in the region.
The regional headquarters “Makers versus COVID-19 / Belgorod” has developed the Koronaed 5 shield model, which is already used in production in seven regions of Russia: in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Belgorod, Kursk, Lipetsk, Kolomna and recently launched in Kaliningrad. This model covers the face well, has ergonomic contours and does not interfere with work.
All work on models takes place remotely. Makers exchange drawings, correct them, and reset print settings to each other. The result of work on the face: there was not a single product with a defect in the assembly of parts from thirteen disparate industries. Of course, this has become possible due to digital production: models are updated as they are released, so all updates are accepted as quickly as possible.
Material for the production of protective masks and adapters for snorkel masks is the main resource-intensive source. The available materials were used in two weeks, then many people and organizations of the region provided invaluable assistance to the regional headquarters. There were cases when relatives of doctors were so touched by the gesture of the makers that they themselves brought materials for future production. The regional headquarters “Makers versus COVID-19 / Belgorod” expresses gratitude to all the sponsors who provided and support during this difficult time for everyone.

Now the screens are in many medical institutions of Belgorod and the region. Already 2170 doctors in the region received absolutely free help from the makers of the Belgorod region in the form of protective masks. These are specialists from many medical institutions in the region.
In June, the regional headquarters “Makers versus COVID-19 / Belgorod” are preparing new development of protection methods for medical workers in the region.
