Research and production internship of master student from Germany

Department of Real Estate Expertise and Management  of BSTU named after  V.G. Shukhov continues to cooperate with leading European universities in the framework of short-term research and production internships under the program of the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE).

During the collaboration, the senior teacher Maria Krutilova successfully conducted a short-term research internship at the Department of Energy Economics at the Brandenburg Technical University, and this summer two 3rd year students, Mikhail Volobuev and Nikolai Simonov, are interning at construction companies in Poland and Serbia.

In its turn, the EUN department from 2017 welcomes undergraduates and undergraduates from universities in Switzerland - the University of Basel - and Germany: the University of Rostock, the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University, the Freiberg Mining Academy.

Internship at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov are in demand among undergraduates of the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University.

Last year successfully completed an internship undergraduate Ludwig Werum. In June this year, Rou Wen, the undergraduate student of the same university, had an internship at the Laboratory of Information and Construction Modeling, created to provide research support to the center, created in collaboration with GraphiSoft, VR-Concept, Leica Geosystem.

Additive-modular construction and construction printing of resource-efficient structures of buildings and structures are popular in European research centers and universities. For the formation of a pool of research and development work on this topic in the BSTU, an engineering and experimental center in construction is being created.

It is equipped with unparalleled testing equipment and robotic construction printing complexes. The laboratory carries out research in the field of standardization and standardization of data storage, transmission and processing protocols, the development of technical regulations, the unification and typification of space-planning and design solutions for buildings and structures designed and implemented using construction printing technologies, the development of methods for structural analysis, monitoring and diagnostics of construction printed designs.

As part of the internship, Rou Wen modeled the spatial design of a complex geometric shape of the surface, carried out its structural analysis, prefabricated the model for the SpetsAvia Long 6044 building in the center of the printer, and carried out a test print of a reduced copy of the model on a 3D printer at Metamorphosis Center for Information Technology.

The result of the internship was a significant deepening of the competencies of undergraduates of the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University Aachen in the field of end-to-end information modeling and the use of modern construction printing technologies.

It should be noted that the Department of EUN of the support university of the region will continue cooperation with IAESTE. It contributes not only to improve the structure and content of educational programs and research conducted at the university, but also strengthens the authority and ranking of the university in the international educational space.
