The delegation of the Russian Academy of Sciences visited the flagship university
The meeting took place within the framework of a workshop on the establishment of a research and education center in the region.
Participating in the official visit were President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeyev, Governor of the Belgorod Region Yevgeny Savchenko, Rector of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Sergey Glagolev.
For the representatives of the delegation prepared a tour of the history and structure of the core university area. The President of the RAS got acquainted with the work of modern scientific laboratories of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, learned about the achievements of the university in the field of physical and chemical research, robotics, mechatronics, computer-aided design.
A working meeting on the creation of the REC "Innovative solutions in the agricultural sector" was held at the National Research University "BelSU". The meeting was attended by the governor of the region, members of the regional government and heads of districts for conference communication, scientists and heads of universities, representatives of industrial partners.
Yevgeny Savchenko noted that the creation of an REC in the Belgorod Region is the right decision: “In many sectors of the economy, our region is a leader. We are committed to maintaining leadership in the agro-industrial production and rely on the scientific and educational center. The main thing today should be the training of new personnel capable of solving complex technological problems. We have large enterprises that have powerful research and production departments, we have a uniting center for all the participants of the REC - Belgorod State University. ”
Alexander Sergeyev, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, shared his impressions of his acquaintance with the agro-industrial enterprises of the region: the Efko and Agro-Belogorye companies, and the premix plant No. 1. He noted the uniqueness of the scientific and educational center created in Belgorod and informed about his vision of its development: “Besides science and education, one of the main heights of the REC is industry. By creating RECs, the state sets the task of correcting the existing disproportion. Today, the state invests seventy percent in science, business - thirty. In the developed countries of the world - the inverse proportion. And our goal is to build a chain that would attract as many funds from the real sector as possible to science.
Today I saw that you have companies that are ready to work together with science and invest in the development of high-tech products that will compete on the world market. ”
Recall that for the first time President Vladimir Putin stated in his address to the Federal Assembly about the creation of a REC in Russia.
As part of the national project "Science" by 2024 in Russia it is planned to create 15 world-class scientific and educational centers. Their goal is to unite universities, research organizations and large companies, taking into account the geographical factor and in accordance with the competitive advantages of universities.
Belgorod SEC "Innovative solutions in the agricultural sector" will unite BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Belgorod State University, Belgorod State Agrarian University named after V.Ya. Gorin and structure of the RAS. The center is supervised by the regional governor Yevgeny Savchenko.
