International Friendship Day
For the 13th time, the flagship university united students from different countries in the framework of the international festival “Our World - Planet Earth”. It was organized by the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
The festival, which has become a good tradition, is held annually in order to rally students, exchange cultural experience, and cultivate tolerance towards other nations. This year it was possible to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of China, Algeria, France, Colombia, Ecuador and other countries.
The inauguration of the international friendship holiday was held on the main square of the university. Students prepared a defile in national costumes of the peoples of Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe.
Natalya Mityakina, Director of the Center for Cultural and Educational Work, and the Dean of the Preparatory Faculty for Foreign Citizens of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, addressed the participants and guests of the festival with a welcoming speech Elena Lёgochkina: “Our festival is an exceptional event. It allows you to visit many countries in just a few hours. Such events remind us that we are many, we are different and unique in our own way.
Remember that any cooperation between states begins with cooperation between people. When we try to understand each other, to see good qualities in other nations, their beauty, we unite and become stronger. ”
At the exhibition of the peoples of the world, the guests got acquainted with national decorations, clothes, musical instruments and products of folk craftsmen from different parts of the world. Foreign students prepared information boards on the historical past and present of their states. The guys sang songs and dances to the national music.
The exhibition also organized a gastronomic tour of the countries where you could taste Russian pancakes, French pies and oriental sweets.
