The university celebrated the day of science
On the 8th of February, the Center for Youth Innovative Creativity "Metamorphosis" became a platform for a day of science at a basic university. Since the morning, the Center staff and volunteers conducted master classes for students and schoolchildren of the Belgorod region on the creation of controlled technical devices, modeling from plywood, and laser cutting. Schoolchildren from the partner city of Vranje (Serbia), who came to the university on a student exchange program, also participated in the master classes.
“In practice, the children understood the device of the sensors, looked at how the sensors work and tried to assemble the microdevices themselves. I am glad that the guys took an active part in the process, asked a lot of questions, ”said Viktor Babayev, the head of the Center for Information Technologies and Communications.
The holiday of science continued with a soft lecture hall where students and schoolchildren learned about the great engineers who were born in the Belgorod region. Head of UNIR BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Andrei Naumov, told us what Shukhov had invented, and what students were studying, drawing attention to the inventions of the great engineer.
“If you are interested in science, it will surely open endless possibilities for the realization of ideas. Science is interesting, ”said Andrei Evgenievich.
The head of the Archives Administration of the Belgorod Region, Pavel Subbotin, told the children about the engineer Proskuryakov, an outstanding bridge builder of Russia, who was also born on the Belgorod land.
