The Council of University Rectors summed up the 2018 admission campaign in the region
At the flagship university – BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov - a meeting of the Council of Rectors of the Belgorod Region was held. Chairman of the Council - President of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Professor Anatoly Gridchin outlined a number of tasks that higher educational institutions face today, stressed that combining the efforts of representatives of Belgorodchiny universities, sharing experience give impetus to the development of each university in particular and the entire system of vocational education in the region as a whole.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of the region - the head of the department of internal and personnel policy Olga Pavlova, the head of the department of vocational education and science of the region AlbinaBuchek, representatives of the regional administration, rectors and vice-rectors of regional universities.
First Deputy Head of the Department of Education of the region Elena Tishina told the council members about the results of the examination campaign in all municipalities of the region this year. According to the Rosobrnadzor rating, this year Belgorod Region took 11th place in terms of security, quality of the unified state examination, introduction of new forms of examinations, etc. For comparison, last year the region was in 68th place in the ranking, which indicates a positive trend. Heads of universities reported on the results of the admission campaigns of 2018 in their institutions of higher education.
Rector of BSTU named after V.G. Professor Sergey Glagolev spoke about the results of the admissions campaign at BSTU. According to the rector, in 2018, the positive dynamics of admission to the university for all forms and levels of education in comparison with 2017 is obvious: 2,308 people were enrolled for full-time education, which is 214 more compared to the previous one. A set of correspondence courses amounted to 2021 people. In general, the university enrolled in 2018 4359 people, which is 319 people more than last year.
"The flagship university of the Belgorod region – BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov - positioning itself by 2025 as a multi-disciplinary university of entrepreneurial type, contributing to the technological progress of the region and enhancing its competitive advantages in the priority areas of the strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation. The university provides personnel for leading regional enterprises in the traditional sectors of the economy and four developing clusters in higher education programs, ”said Sergey Nikolayevich.
The meeting discussed a number of current problems related to the strategy for the development of education in the region, with the staffing of subject schools in the region, the results of the USE, and a number of others. And also approved the work plan of the Council of Rectors and its relevant commission for the 2018-2019 academic year.
