The university’s voluntary fire brigade is a regional competition medalist
On September 26, within the framework of the Year of Safety Culture and the Year of Volunteer (Volunteer) in Russia, competitions for the title of “The Best Volunteer Fire Department of the Region” were held at the stadium of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situation in the Belgorod region. Units of voluntary fire brigades of enterprises, organizations and rural settlements, which became the best in district competitions, took part in this competition.
The flagship university – BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov was represented by students - participants of the voluntary fire brigade: Andrey Pankratov, Dmitry Petrov, Lenur Durnev, Nikita Mozgovoy, Sergey Denisov, Egor Borisov, Evgeny Lezhaysky (heads: Daria Vasyutkina, Ivan Zhernokleev).
Competitions consisted of four stages. The first stage is “Combat Deployment”, where athletes were supposed to demonstrate skills in working with rescue tools, combat deployment from a fire engine, and first aid.
The second stage of the fire relay "Extinguish the fire." The third stage revealed the “Best Voluntary Firefighter-2018”, the fourth stage - “The Best Drivers of WPC-2018”.
Team of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov took the 1st place in the fire relay. Dmitry Petrov won the 2nd place in the individual championship for the title of “The Best Voluntary Firefighter-2018”, Nikita Mozgovoy took the 2nd place in the nomination “The best WPC driver - 2018”.
