BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov held the first Open Day in the new academic year
About 500 people, future graduates of schools and colleges, began their acquaintance with the university at the thematic exhibition at the university, where they were able to fully get acquainted with the features of the 2019 admission campaign, get promotional materials, talk with staff, lecturers and heads of departments of the university.
Today, the university offers almost 100 popular areas of training for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. Also, according to the programs of secondary vocational education: the first enrollment to the high technology college was conducted for three specializations in 2018: "Architecture", "Ecology", "Management of multi – family housing". This year, the military department resumed its work. It expands the horizons for the employment of graduates, gives a military specialization. In the future, the university plans to graduate officers.
Professional-interactive sites were also presented: Belgorod Children's Regional Technopark “Kvantorium”, student construction brigades, robotics, the center of innovative creativity “Metamorphosis”, the engineering and racing team “SHUKHOV RACING TEAM”, volunteer teams of the university.
The technological innovation of this year is a live broadcast on the Internet through the social networks: VKONTAKTE, FACEBOOK. Rector of the university, Professor Sergey Glagolev, First Vice-Rector Nikolay Shapovalov and Executive Secretary of the University Admissions Committee Sergey Bulgakov interactively communicated with future applicants, spoke about the benefits of admission, and answered numerous questions.
The rector noted that in 2018 the university entered the top 20 best Russian universities of technical profile, entered the TOP 100 universities of the international Webometrics rating. The flagship university rose to the TOP-100 from 60 to 55 positions in the annual ranking of universities in Russia and the best schools in Russia on the competitiveness of graduates of the RAEX agency in 2018. And traditionally, the university is regularly included in the TOP-100 of the National Universities Ranking of Interfax Agency.
