The first three places were taken by BSTU students at the Formula Student in Moscow
The All-Russian Engineering and Sports Festival "Formula Student" was held in Moscow. It was organized by the Government of Moscow in conjunction with the program for the development of Russian motorsport SMP Racing. 15 student teams of universities from nine cities of Russia fought for the championship. Evaluation of the engineering and racing teams gave the most experienced judges from Austria, Germany and Russia.
BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov this year was represented by two teams - SHUKHOV RACING TEAM Combustion in the class "Formula SAE" with a gasoline racing car, and a very young team of the SHUKHOV RACING TEAM Baja with its first buggy in the "Baja SAE" class.
An indispensable condition for participating in dynamic disciplines was the passage of a technical inspection for the cars of each team. The stages of the competitions in these countries are the most difficult in terms of passing the technical inspection. The panel of judges checked each car for compliance with all the requirements of the official regulations of the competitions "Formula SAE" and "Baja SAE". BSTU teams successfully passed the technical inspection and took part in the dynamics.
For BSTU team, the competitions in Moscow were the very first and main test. The young BSTU team successfully participated in all static (presentation of the business plan and defense of the car design) and dynamic tests. During the dispersal of the Belgorod residents, the "Baja" from Krasnoyarsk went around, but in the autocross and endurance race, Belgorod did not yield to anyone.
As a result of the competition, the team of "Baja SAE" brought home three main prizes: 1st place in the general class, 1st place in the nominations "race for endurance" and "Dynamic disciplines".
