The future BSTU students met in «Sinus»
The regional summer mathematical school "Sinus" was opened in the children's health camp "Prometheus". The flagship university of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov became the main organizer of the school for the second year.
The opening ceremony was attended by the rector of the university professor Sergey Glagolev. Sergey Nikolaevich marked the importance of the existence of such a school. The director of the Small Technological University of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Natalya Altynnik and the author of the idea of creating a school Larisa Yakubovich also attended the opening ceremony.
The organizers congratulated the guys on the opening and wished a productive shift. Participants of the school presented their detachments, told about the main rules, the routine of the day, took part in the dance flash mob.
"Prometheus", which is located in Yakovlevsky district, this year, opened the doors to 65 of the best students of the Belgorod region. Schoolchildren from Alekseevsky, Gubkinsky, Borisov, Starooskolsky districts and Belgorod will devote 10 days to in-depth study of various fields of mathematics, exact sciences and preparation for Olympiads.
Throughout the whole time, the best lecturers of the region's flagship university, graduates of prestigious Moscow universities and mentors will conduct classes and lectures for the children.
There are children of 5-11 classes at school. By tradition, mathematicians were divided into groups by age; each group was given its name, motto and color of clothing. During the day, 5-6 hours are taken to class, the rest of the time they communicate, do homework, and hold sports events, share knowledge and rest.
The leaders note that the selection in the summer mathematics school is strict. It is necessary to provide a portfolio to review the application. 90 percent of school participants are winners and prize-winners of municipal, regional stages of Olympiads for schoolchildren.
