Handballers of the flagship university are winners of the VI All-Russian Summer Universiade
The final handball competitions in the framework of the VI All-Russian Summer Universiade-2018 took place in the sports complex of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov on June 25th.
BSTU Team (Belgorod) and National State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Health (St. Petersburg) met in the game for standing first.
The team from St. Petersburg was leading in the first half with a score of 20:18.
However, after the break the situation changed radically. BSTU team leveled the score (24:24) already after sixth minute, and they broke out ahead after eleven minutes. The winning goal was in the goal gate one minute before the end of the match, thereby making the team of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov winners of the All-Russian Summer Universiade for the first time in the history of Russian handball.
