Rector Sergey Glagolev discussed prospects for cooperation with German counterparts
Delegation of the flagship university of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov visited the Technische Hochschule Georg Agricola (THGA) (Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) on a working visit at the invitation of the rector of the Institute, Professor Jürgen Kretschmann.
The delegation included rector of the University, Professor Sergey Glagolev, Vice-Rector for International Activities, Professor Ruslan Lesovik, Head of the Department of Mechanical Equipment, Professor Vasily Bogdanov, Leading Specialist of the Center for International Education and Cooperation Olga Leonova.
During the visit, representatives of the flagship university visited the leading cement plants and machine building companies in Germany, which are partners of the German university. The parties discussed the possibility of employing graduates, and BSTU students’ internship.
A three-party memorandum between BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, THGA and Industrial metallurgical holding KMAruda was signed during the meeting with the management of the German university. Joint research, the establishment of a working group for solving the planned tasks and issues stipulated in this agreement.
Vice-rector Ruslan Lesovik commented: «Further cooperation between universities was also discussed: publications on mining and processing equipment, exchange of students, graduate students and professors. Prospects of cooperation and the plan for further work has been prepared».
During the visit the delegation of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov visited the only working mine in the German region of Ruhr and the training center for mine rescuers, the central point for collecting information on the drainage from the mines. Belgorod colleagues together with the professors of the German university took part in the actions focused on the problems of mine reclamation.
