The flagship university celebrated the Spring and Labor Festival
The staff of the regional flagship university joined the citywide annual action dedicated to the Spring and Labor Day on May 1. Earlier, the holiday was known as the International Workers' Solidarity Day.
Activists from the student organizations, foreign students, employees, representatives of the management and trade union committee, the university administration came out to the square near the Victory Park under the flags of Russia, university and trade union organization.
The delegation was headed by the first vice-rector, Professor Nikolay Shapovalov.
The celebration of the May Day traditionally symbolizes the solidarity of labor collectives, the trade union activity, the beginning of the spring flowering on the eve of one of the important holidays in Russia - the day of the Great Victory.
The May Day events in Belgorod gather delegations, represented by different departments, organizations, enterprises, companies, educational institutions of the city and the region. In 2018, the historic holiday «International Workers' Solidarity Day» celebrated its 100th anniversary.
