The team of the flagship university became the prize-winner of the Olympiad on safety of vital activity

On April 16-18, the third final stage of the All-Russian Student Olympiad for Life Safety was held at Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman. Leading universities of Russia from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol, Stavropol, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk took part in the event. Flagship University of the Belgorod Region – BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, was represented by a team of students of the group NI-21 Anna Balantseva, Anna Zlatova and Darina Klimenko, led by Candidate of Technical Sciences, associate professor of the Department of Life Safety A.U. Semeykin.

 

 The Olympiad was held in personal and team competitions. Individual classification took place on the first day of the competition and was conducted in one round. Each participant had to fulfill a written task, containing 6 questions. It was necessary to defend the project dedicated to solving the problem of life safety in accordance with the traditions of the department, the needs of the industry or region in the team competition.

Also, the participants held masterclasses on the problems of radioactive waste disposal and the impact of nuclear energy on the environment.

According to the results of the final stage of the Olympiad, the BSTU team became the winner and took second place. Also, the Shukhov team were awarded a special jury prize for creativity in the innovative contest.
