Students from the faculty of Power Engineering presented the university at the All-Russian Energy Olympiads

Students of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov competed in the All-Russian student Olympiads of the 2nd stage «Relay Protection and Automation of Electric Power Systems» (Samara State Technological University) and «Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering» (Kazan).

On March 19-21, 2018, in accordance with the Educational methodical department of the Russian Federation and the Council of Rectors of the Samara Region, an Olympiad among bachelors and undergraduates of the specialization «Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering» was held at the Samara State Technical University.

The purpose of the conference is to improve the quality of graduates' training, to develop interest in the chosen profession among students.

12 students from universities of Samara, Moscow, Ivanovo, Chelyabinsk, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Cheboksary, Ufa and Irkutsk, as well as Belgorod, demonstrated their knowledge at the Olympiad.

Our university was represented by the students of the Department of Power and Automation: Bachelor Alexei Selin, undergraduates Ilya Rogozin, Veniamin Bondar, Alexei Yudin and Anton Polunin.

Alexey Yudin took the second place in the individual competition at the Olympiad.

BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov at the All-Russian Students' Olympiad «Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering» was represented by a team of third and fourth-year students under the direction of Vladimir Sotnikov, professor at the Department of Electrical Power and Automation, consisting of: V.V. Kordubailo, A.O. Lesnikov, A.Yu. Selin, S.E. Bezuglov, N.S. Lavrinenko, E.S. Makeeva, S.N. Koryakina.

Nikita Lavrinenko was individually awarded with an honorary diploma and a diploma of the 1st degree as the best in the team and for the high results in the individual competition in the BSTU team.

 

In the team classification, the «Technolog» team took the third place, giving way to Moscow Power Engineering Institute and Kazan State Energy University.

The best students received certificates of membership in RNC SIGRE *in follow up of participation in Olympiads and other projects and in December they will receive an invitation to the second School of Energy Leaders in the Moscow Region. Two undergraduates of the Department of Electric Power and Automation Yudin Alexei and Bondar Veniamin are among the best students.
