University assisted in collecting funds for people with cancer in Serbia
A Russian-Serbian humanitarian evening «Brotherly Nish from Belgorod» was held in the Serbian city of Nish. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the cancer treatment. The Institute of Serbian Language and Communications of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov and the Serbian youth non-profit organization «Initiative of Communication and Cooperation «IKS» were the organizers of the event.
The Nis National Theater, the administration of the Panteleya city district, the Nis tour organization, the Nis Cultural Center and city mass media were the partners of the event from the Serbian side.
The program of the event consisted of a Russian-Serbian concert, the prize awarding for the cooperation development between Belgorod and Nis, an exhibition-sale, where about three hundred pieces of art and handmade souvenirs were presented.
The concert program was attended by the quartet «Forte», which performed the hymns of Russia and Serbia, as well as the Russian song «Horse» and the Serbian song «Zora», the ethno-ensemble «Nishki Devojke», who performed with Russian musical compositions. A graduate of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, who’s continuing his studies in Serbia, Nikita Metla performed with the songs «Katyusha», «Thank your life» and «There's no you», as well as the Serbian poet Bilyana Stanoevich.
30 BSTU students, who are currently studying in Nis on the academic exchange program, as well as Serbian students who have previously visited Belgorod became the volunteers of the event.
Organizers of the humanitarian evening express their deep gratitude to the Belgorod schools, the Belgorod City Education Department, Belgorod Union of Artists, the creative design workshop and the BSTU Voluntary Center, Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture, souvenir studio «Dolphin», design studio «ART VICTORY», private entrepreneur N.A. Zhuravleva.
During the three-hour event, about 1,000 euros were donated. The funds were transferred to the well-known and respected Serbian charitable organization «National Union of Parents of Children with Cancer «NURDOR».
