BSTU delegation took part in the solemn reception of the Embassy of Serbia in Russia

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow hosted a solemn event dedicated to the celebration of Serbia's Independence Day, the Meeting of the Lord, as well as the 180th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Serbia. The event was attended by the vice-rector for international affairs of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Ruslan Lesovik and university students Snezhana Laketic, Alexander Laketic and Nemanja Laketic.

«Invitation to this event is a true recognition of the university's merits in the development of relations between our countries», said Ruslan Valerievich.

The students of the flagship university - citizens of Russia and Serbia - were represented not only by the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications of BSTU, but also by the non-profit youth organization «Communication and Cooperation Initiative – ICS». Their activity to strengthen friendly ties between Serbia and Russia made it possible to become honorary guests of this event along with diplomats, politicians, military, scientists, artists and representatives of the Orthodox Church.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Member of the State Duma Committee on Regulations and Organization of Work of the State Duma Olga Epifanova, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, First Class State Councilor of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Grushko, First Deputy Editor-in-Chief of International Media Group «Russia Today» Sergei Kochetkov and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of International Media Group «Russia Today» Anton Anisimov attended this event. Milos Bikovich, a Serbian theater and film actor, also visited the festive evening. In Serbia, he became famous because he go the lead in the film and TV series «Montevideo: Divine Vision», and he is popular in Russia because he starred in Nikita Mikhalkov's film “Sunstroke» and the TV series «Hotel Eleon».

 

Solemn evening was opened by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation Dr. Slavenko Terzic, anthems of the fraternal countries of Serbia and Russia were played, followed by a congratulatory speech by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.

  

The program of the evening was very rich, the exhibition «Serbia from the palette of Russian artists» was displayed in the embassy foyer, guests attended the concert, where the Russian band «Rodnik», the Serbian band «Zavicha» and other folk groups took part.

 

BSTU Delegation met and talked to the famous journalist and interpreter Tatyana Milenovich-Kostourkov, as well as with the organizers of the international contest «Serbia in my heart».  The issues related to the holding of the competitive stage of regional significance in 2018 in the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov were discussed.
