The Serbian Statehood Day celebrated at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov
BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov hosted a festive evening dedicated to the Statehood Day and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia at the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications. It was prepared and conducted by Russian and Serbian students of the flagship university of the region and other Belgorod universities. All guests of the festive evening were waiting for the performances of cultural groups, lyrical readings, a competitive program and traditional food.
The choir of the Belgorod Theological Seminary (with a missionary orientation) and the Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture (BGIIC) sang the anthem of the Republic of Serbia, as well as several Serbian and Russian folk songs.
The host of the event - the director of the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications Victoria Ryapukhina, congratulated all the guests on the occasion of the holiday and told about its history. «February 15, 1804 - the date of the first Serbian uprising, when the brutal measures of the Turkish Janissaries, prompted the leaders of national liberation groups to jointly come out with the goal of establishing self-government. And later, already with the support of the Russian Empire, they were opposed the Turkish Ottoman rule to gain an independent status of political autonomy, and then the full independence of Serbia». Also on February 15, 1835, the first Serbian democratic constitution was adopted - the Constitution of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the so-called Sretenskaya Constitution.
A student of the Belgorod Orthodox Theological Seminary Neneda Boykov congratulated all the guests on the Meeting of the Lord and told about its historical significance. And the students of the Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture Theodora Tsekich and Jovan Dodic sang a Serbian folk song.
Victoria Ryapukhina shared the plan of events of the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications for the current year. There are language proficiency test for A1-level, which will be held on February 20. And on February 21, certificates will be awarded. This year 47 students will receive language proficiency certificates.
On February 27, the student exchange program - 2018 will begin. This time, 39 people will go to Serbia (Nis), to exchange experiences. BSTU will receive students from Serbia under this program.
On April 20, Belgorod will host the final of the second Belgorod regional tour of the contest «Serbia in my heart».
The head of the youth non-profit organization «Initiative of Communication and Cooperation – IKS» Alexander Laketich, spoke about the humanitarian evening «To fraternal people of Nis from Belgorod», which will be held in Nish on March 23.
The winner of the first Belgorod regional round of the contest «Serbia in my heart 2017», a student of BSTU Daria Yaroshevich read the poem «The Beauty of Serbia» by Ivan Nikodievich (translation from Serbian Sergey Ilyin).
The winner of the National Contest «Serbia in my Heart 2017», a student of the Belgorod Theological Seminary Nenad Boykov, read the poem «The Plava Grobnica» by Milutin Boich.
The head of the non-profit organization Interregional Club «Russian-Serbian Dialogue» Yevgeny Osenkov spoke about the second festival «Serbian Days in Chernozemie-2018», which will be held on June 4. During the festival, there will be 10 sites that will tell the guests about life in Serbia. In addition, a business program with film screening will be organized. Last year it was interesting, this year the program promises to be even more fascinating».
An intellectual game on the cultural knowledge of Serbia with a «black box» also was organized for Yevgeny Osenkov and all participants of the evening.
At the end of the event, the results of the photo contest for the most Serbian photo were summed up. The winners were Yulia Semykina, Vladislav Petoyan, Alexander Belyalov, Angela Petimko and Alyona Lebedeva.
At the end of the evening, everyone could take part in the master class on Serbian folk dance «kolo» and enjoy the traditional tea-party with pies.
