University skiers became bronze medalists
The competitions in cross-country skiing among the teams of higher educational institutions were held at the cycle ski roller route «Olympia» on February 14 and 15. Teams of five universities competed for first prize: BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, BelSU, Belgorod Law institute of Ministry of the Interior of Russia named after I.D. Putilin, BSAU named after V. Gorin and BUCEL. Almost fifty applications were submitted. 13 participants represented the flagship university.
Sergey Dubentsov, deputy head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, greeted all the participants on the first day. He wished the participants successful start and praiseworthy victories.
Competitions were held in two stages: the relay race (for girls 3x3 km and for boys - 4x5 km free style) and mass starts (for girls - 5 km and for boys - 7.5 km in free style).
Assistant Professor of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, the university team coach for ski sports Sergei Voskovsky commented: «Our guys performed well, as a team. Everyone worked for the team, and we received the honorable Third Prize. Last year we also took the Third Prize at the Universiade. As the saying goes «Stability is a sign of skill».
Also Sergey Andreevich reminded about the forthcoming 44th University skiing Sports and athletic meeting, which will take place at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
