BSTU tnamed after V.G. Shukhov entered the rating of Russian universities for the software industry (July 27, 2017 )

 The Russian economy is rapidly developing, moving to a new one - the "knowledge economy". This economy requires the development of IT-technologies, and, as a consequence - the software industry. This industry includes companies that develop software. At the present time specialists in this industry are in great demand.

In July 2017, the association "Russoft" presented a rating of Russian universities that train such specialists. For the first time the rating was compiled in 2014 on the basis of a survey of Russian software developers for 4 years (from 2011 to 2014).

In total, 119 universities are mentioned in the rating as the best in Russia. BSTU named after  V.G. Shukhov entered the top 50 of this rating, and takes 34-41 place. It is worth noting that in the Belgorod region is not concentrated so many software companies, such as in Moscow or St. Petersburg.

Universities are ranked by the number of references by software companies of specific universities as sources of replenishing their staff with new employees. When conducting the survey within the framework of the annual Russoft research, the respondents answered the question about universities whose graduates are most in demand among IT enterprises in the region.
