Serbian islet at the BSTU
On the 22nd of June was great opening of Serbian resource center at the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov.
The ceremony was attended by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the Russian Federation, Dr. Terzic Slavenko, Second Secretary of the Embassy Mrs. Snezana Pavlovic, Metropolitan of Belgorod and Stary Oskol -Lord John, the first deputy head of administration of the city of Belgorod in Economics- A. Izvarin, Rector of BSTU-Doctor of Economics, Prof. S.N. Glagolev and representatives of the city of Belgorod universities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony Rector of our university recalled that our university for more than ten years developing close cooperation with various cities in Serbia. Cooperation takes place in different directions: in the arts, in industry, in education. Over the years, more than three hundred students were in Serbia, the same Serbian young men and women have been trained, training at language schools. Concluded agreements with industry.
Guests of the event learned that manages this process a real enthusiast of the business - Victoria Ryapuhina. She invites guests, organizes open-air counter, and even translate a piece from Serbian into Russian - it recently playing at the Belgord theater. Gradually she formed the idea of creating a center that will bring together concert and exhibition halls, a library, classroom. There will be events that introduce the history, culture, way of life of the Serbian people. Students and teachers will be able to take part in the evenings of friendship, exhibitions, concerts. There will be exhibited works of artists who participate in the open air on the territory of Serbia. Already assembled a rich subject series that decorate the interior of the room: costumes, works of arts and crafts, household items, about five hundred books for the library. According to the managers, the center will become a platform studying Serbian language.
Ambassador of Serbia Slavenko Terzic assured that will help to ensure new books that are exhibited works by famous Serbian artists and held meetings with famous artists. The diplomat recalled how closely intertwined the destinies of our peoples, as Russia was helping to fight the Ottoman yoke, as Serbia in the twenties of the last century took more than a hundred thousand Russian immigrants.
Lord John noted that the Centre should become a meeting place for those who are not indifferent to our common faith and culture. "Today is a wonderful day of brotherly love, and this day is organized by the scientific community that is passionate about the education of the younger generation. This center will be important. "
Metropolitan remembered how a few years ago in one of the provinces of Serbia, at the diocese, representatives of the delegation of the Belgorod opened the Children's Cultural Center of friendship with Russia. Now it's time to make a reciprocal step.
