Tour of the University for the Delegation of Zambian Embassy

 

On September 20, a delegation of the Republic of Zambia represented by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Russia Mr. Frederick Shumba Hapunda and Education Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia to the Russian Federation Mr. Michael Mundambo Laimo arrived at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov on a business visit.
About 70 students from Zambia are studying in Belgorod , including over 30 at BSTU. Representatives of this African state appreciate the education that their young people get at BSTU.  The Government representatives have repeatedly expressed satisfaction with the living conditions created for foreign students and the teachers’ staff attention to young Zambians. This year, 12 more students have been admitted to study at the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens.
Interesting and informative tour of the university was organized for the honored guests.

 

   


Vice Rector for cultural and educational work, PhD, Professor. Y.I. Seliverstov acquainted the Zambian delegation with honorary professors of the university, whose pictures are placed in the main academic building.
In the central control room the guests got acquainted with the functioning of the security system, as well as power control and energy efficiency unit.
"It is very good that such a small center solves such important issues," - said the Ambassador.

   

  

  

  


The tour of the university museum was exciting. "It’s a wonderful day in Belgorod. High level of training. Many achievements. There is a lot to learn form you "- wrote Mr. Frederick Shumba Hapunda in the guestbook.
Great interest was aroused exposition presented in the Exhibition Hall.
In the Resource Center of the German and French languages acquainted the guests with the international activities of the University.
Post-graduate students of the section "Nanotechnology in building materials" communicating with the distinguished guests with ease and finally handed over samples of materials made with the use of nanotechnology.

 

   


Sport facilities made a good impression on the representatives of Zambia.

   

   

 

"You look great," - said the Ambassador, addressing the students from Zambia, studying at BSTU. Frederick Shumba Hapunda reminded his young compatriots of the need to learn better, to hold the banner of their country high.
The tour finished with planting a tree. The students from Zambia gave a promise to take care of this tree.
