Visiting the «Field of Prokhorovka» memorial estate

The group of students from Ankara University (Turkey) proceed with their acquaintance with local attractions. The representatives of Turkey are taking 2 months Russian language program at our university.

Last Friday the Turkish students visited «The Field of Prokhorovka», a military and historical memorial estate, a huge tank battle place (in 1943) ), which became a turning point during World War II. A guide who met the delegation told in detail about the efforts to stop the German military forces and the sacrifice of the Soviet people to the altar of the Victory.

The visitors saw a bell tower, the Patar’s and Paul’s chapel, the museum of military glory, the armament of World War II. All the students saw, have extended their scope of historical knowledge and also made a strong impression on them. The war stories they heard helped them to realize a value the Soviet people had to sacrifice fighting for the freedom and independence of the country. We believe that after visiting the memorial estate the Turkish students will feel more respect to the nation whose language they came to study.
